One Written in STONE law: Some of the activities
undertaken by members of the TCEO can be
hazardous, even potentially lethal. We have written the following
to
protect the TCEO and you, its members from anyone getting suit crazy if
they grab a hold of a B+ rail on a 1950s TV. Please take it
seriously, and understand that we are not trying to create a law firm.
As of now, we have only Policies and Guidelines. If it
becomes nessessary, we will have to formalize our policies into a code
of laws, and they are binding. Part 1 {Hold Harmless Clause} - By being an associate, hang around, member, or former member, you hereby agree that you and any agent, family member, or associate who may represent you or act on your behalf, will continuously hold the TCEO, all its members, officers, property, advertisers, associates, affiliates, or other agents materially, and financially harmless and non-offending, in all criminal or civil proceedings. You furthermore agree to pay ALL the court costs and attorney's fees for ALL parties in any litigation or proceeding that is initiated by you or your agents as stated above. Part 2 {Interpretation and Implementation of Policies and Laws Clause} - By being an associate, hang around, member, or former member, you hereby agree that you and any agent, family member, or associate who may represent you or act on your behalf, agree that the sole binding interpretation of this law in both parts, and all TCEO policies and bylaws is that of the club's founder Justin Champion, or the Standing or Acting Club President, as defined by the Club Officer's Charter. During the transition to formal TCEO documentation, receipt of any application to join the club, followed by receipt of membership confirmation is considered binding admission that you have read this page, and implicitly agree to be fully bound by it's clauses. Whew! |
Club Operational Policies: Informal but binding.Policy #1 - Don't discriminate against anyone for any reason. If you act like a Pig, you'll get asked to leave the club. If you commit a crime against anyone else in the club, you'll be banned for life. If you decide that you want to joke around with someone else in a questionable way, make sure that they, as well as anyone else who hears you thinks its funny too. On the other side of the coin, if you bring an arbitrary, false, or baseless claim of discrimination against someone you will be dismissed from the club. If you start an off color conversation yourself and then get upset because someone else follows your lead, you'll *BOTH* get probation for 90 days. We hate having to say this, we hate it that people can't be civilized adults sometimes, but better safe than sorry. The club president or founder makes the final decision in this case. Final Note: Group or club Debates about political or social topics do NOT count as discrimination, because they are organized events, and anyone who might be offended has the right not to attend. The subject matter during our debates is implicitly defined as either fact seeking, or compelling opinion intent on exposing important information, thus it is also implicitly defined as non-defamatory. Policy #2 - Don't say you'll show up, and then go AWOL. We expect club members to show up for meetings when they say they will. Sometimes emergencies arise, but repeated absence when you've promised to show up or help out will land any member probation. This goes double for officers or people providing transportation or material support. Policy #3 - Don't enter, use, procure, or modify club property without due permission or authority. Don't open a window to get into the clubhouse! Don't go around back and "borrow" the van (when we get one) without asking! Don't decided to rewire a tube tester! Doing any such nonsense once gets a 6 month probation, anything further is grounds for dismissal. Policy #4 - Respect other Club Member's Things & Privacy - Just because you know where someone else in the club lives, or keeps a stash of NOS 6L6GC tubes, doesn't mean that you get to use their couch at 2AM or build a new guitar amp. Its funny, but it's also serious! Don't be a rude, uncouth, stalker. Contacting members outside club functions is perfectly acceptable and actively encouraged, up to a point. That "POINT" is exactly when the club member you are contacting says stop, or no I can't help this week, etc... "Borrowing (Stealing)" personal supplies from someone is just that, theft. Its an automatic dismissal from the club unless the owner accepts your explanation or requests we not dismiss you, in which case the member will get 6 months of probation. Policy #5 - Live and love - We can all be harsh, Judge Dredd types if we want. Any intelligent person can shoe-horn another person into "violating" some policy. The truth is, we should all just chill out and enjoy the brotherhood and sisterhood afforded by the TCEO. Nobody who makes an honest mistake has anything to fear, but anyone who takes advantage will quickly wish they had not done so. As club founder, I want to make it crystal clear that policies are here to protect the club members and the club from undue hostility whether internal or external. Any club member who has something to say should not fear to do so, and can contact me at my club or personal email addresses. |
